Amadou and Mariam, "the blind couple from Mali", have been playing their warm African rhythms and infectiously catchy melodies for more than thirty years now. After establishing a reputation in Africa, the duo finally broke onto the international music scene in two stages, first with the hit single "Mon amour, ma chérie" in 1998. They then confirmed their new star status in 2004 with the album "Dimanche à Bamako", produced by Manu Chao as well as in 2008 with "Welcome To Mali" which featured contributions by Damon Albarn, Tiken Jah Fakoly, K'Naan and Keziah Jones, among others. These two big-selling albums have taken Amadou and Mariam on an epic journey that has made the couple the best-selling and best-loved act to come out of Africa this century. And all this has been achieved while remaining true to their roots and without compromising their authenticity.
