Vicente Amigo is esteemed in the flamenco world as one of the most accomplished and influential of the new generation of guitarists. An elusive, mysterious, and secret artist, with a moving sensitivity and unparalleled depth, Vicente Amigo was born in Guadalcanal (Seville) in 1967 and grew up in Cordoba. Attached to the guitar since childhood, disc after disc, he has revealed himself as one of the most innovative and fertile creators of current music. Since his first album in 1991, he managed to create his own style, delicate and voluptuous, open to other music styles. He has been called “a natural successor to the legendary composer and flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía”. In fact, like Paco de Lucia, Vicente Amigo loves musical experiences. He has collaborated with the finest artists from flamenco and other genres. This Andalusian artist recorded or shared the stage with Paco de Lucia, Camarón de la Isla, Carmen Linares, Manola Sanlucar, Diego El Cigala, Miguel Poveda, Estrella Morente, David Bowie, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, John McLaughlin et Al di Meola… Besides being an ambassador of flamenco guitar and an honorary member of the United Nations Arts & Sciences, he has received two Grammy Awards and the Gold Medal of Fine Arts. Accompanied by top-class musicians, he will perform at OFFest and make us enjoy the music and personal compositions that have made Vicente Amigo a reference in flamenco guitar today.
